Red Axes - Loud

Loud is Red Axes' most explosive record yet, thirteen tracks where post-punk grit finally shoves the club influences aside and takes the wheel.

Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi have been making music together since they were fourteen, first as the psychedelic rock band Red Cotton before Tel Aviv's underground dance scene pulled them toward house, disco, and techno through their Break It! party series. More than a decade of releases and sets at Coachella, Glastonbury, Sónar, and Berghain later, this record circles back to where they started, channelling the psych rock roots through something rawer, closer in spirit to Amyl and the Sniffers or the Brian Jonestown Massacre than anything built for a dark room at 4am.

La La La, the lead single, captures a night spiralling somewhere between euphoria and collapse, distorted guitar sitting right alongside the electronic pulse that's always defined them. Church Avenue leans into pure surf-rock momentum, and Lava Lava is the record's chaos peak, pounding and relentless in a way nothing in their back catalogue quite matches.

Thirteen tracks that refuse to sit still, and a duo who have clearly decided owning a sound doesn't mean repeating it. Loud earns its title without ever needing to raise its voice to prove the point.
